Answer: In 2023, it was 2%. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “natural gas accounted for 55% of Virginia’s total in-state electricity net generation, nuclear power supplied 32%, renewables—mostly solar energy and biomass—provided 12%, and coal fueled 2%.”
