Headquarters for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) will move from Hampton Roads to Austin, Texas, later this year and combine with Army Futures Command there. Some operations will remain in Virginia for the immediate future.

This will be the most significant transformation the Army has seen in a generation … and these changes will make the Army more lethal,” Lt. Col. Jamie Dobson said about the move.

Brig. Gen. Jennifer Walkawicz added that “there will still be a substantial footprint here at Fort Eustis as the two commands merge.” Roughly 1,500 civilians and military members currently work at the facility.

Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine said Army leaders promised him that there would be “no significant change to personnel levels” in Virginia. However, final decisions haven’t been announced.

Article Icon 1AG Alleges Discrimination at Elite High School

The Justice Department and Department of Education have opened federal investigations into the admission policies at Fairfax County’s elite Thomas Jefferson High School.

This follows the closure of a state-level investigation in which Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares concluded that the school’s policy discriminated against Asian American students.

The county changed the way Thomas Jefferson accepted students in 2020. “The school board removed standardized testing and replaced it with a so-called ‘holistic review,’” Miyares said.

The attorney general’s office report said the new policy discriminates against Asian American students, a group that made up two-thirds of the school’s enrollment under the previous system and just over half this year.

The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in a similar case last year but declined to intervene, leaving in place a lower court decision that allowed the admissions changes.

Once upon a time we had to make lists and physically go to stores when we needed things.

Sometimes we’d have to go to several stores or even shopping malls for what we needed. Then one day, out of the heavens, came Amazon.

For many of us, free shipping and access to exclusive shows and movies is enough reason to fork over the $14.99 per month to get Prime.

But if those reasons haven’t been enough to entice you to join Prime, maybe some of these lesser-known incentives will tempt you to sign up.

Here are 9 of those perks.
