Article Icon 1Congressional Special Election Today

Democrat James Walkinshaw squares off against Republican Stewart Whitson today in a special election to fill the 11th Congressional District seat, which represents much of Fairfax County and leans heavily Democratic.

Walkinshaw served as chief of staff to the late Rep. Gerry Connolly for more than 10 years before Connolly’s death in May left the seat vacant. “I think I’m the best prepared person and the person who’s willing to take on Trump in this moment,” Walkinshaw said

Whitson is a former FBI special agent and an Army veteran who vowed to take on the political left. “Sometimes conservatives in a district where there are a lot of people that support these radical policies are afraid to stand up against these policies, but I’m not,” he said.

District voters who are not registered may only participate if they go to their local polling place and complete a provisional ballot.

A VDOT Safety Service Patrol employee was killed, and the stranded driver the patroller was trying to help was seriously injured on Saturday night when they were hit by a car on I-95 north of Dumfries.

State police said a northbound driver lost control, and the driver’s car careened across all the travel lanes before striking both men along the right shoulder of the highway.

The Safety Service Patrol employee’s name has not been made public. The driver is facing charges, and an investigation is still underway.

Virginia updated its Move Over law about two years ago. The law requires drivers to change lanes and give extra space if possible when they pass emergency workers or disabled vehicles on the side of the road.

The Virginia Department of Education received a federal grant of $510,000 to start a Principal Registered Apprenticeship program at six universities in the Commonwealth.

The money will help students who want to be school principals obtain a master’s degree or certificate with licensure in administration and supervision.

Thanks to this incredible partnership with Virginia Works and the U.S. Department of Labor, school divisions can cultivate their own school leaders within their communities,” said Emily Anne Gullickson, state superintendent of public instruction.

The state expects the pilot program will support as many as 37 participants.

It’s a private company, but Pacaso just reserved the Nasdaq ticker $PCSO

Created by a former Zillow exec who sold his first venture for $120M, Pacaso brings co-ownership to the $1.3T vacation home industry.

It has generated $1B+ worth of luxury home transactions and fees across 2,000+ owners, resulting in more than $110M in gross profits in less than five years.

You can join them today for just $2.90/share. But don’t wait too long. Invest in Pacaso before the opportunity ends Sept. 18.

Former Zillow Exec Opens Door to $1.3T Market

Austin Allison sold his first company for $120M. He later served as an executive for Zillow. Both companies reached massive valuations before everyday investors could get in.

“I always wished everyday investors could have shared in their early success,” Allison later said. So he built Pacaso differently.

Pacaso brings co-ownership to the $1.3T vacation home market, earning $110M+ in gross profit in under five years. No wonder the same early investors who backed Uber, Venmo, and eBay already invested in Pacaso.

Now, after adding 10 new international destinations, Pacaso is hitting its stride. It even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

And unlike his previous ventures, you can invest in Pacaso as a private company. But you don’t have time to waste. Invest before Pacaso’s opportunity ends on Sept. 18.

This is a paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Please read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving the ticker is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals.
