We’re So Close. This Is the Moment.

We’re entering the final stretch of our campaign to reach 2,000 reader-investors, and we’re closer than ever. Eleven days ago, we set out with a simple but ambitious goal: prove that everyday Americans—not corporations or political machines—can build a trustworthy, independent newsroom together.

Today, we’re within striking distance.

If you’ve been thinking about investing…If you’ve been waiting for the right moment…
If you’ve wondered whether your contribution truly matters… This is that moment.
Every new investor helps strengthen something rare in American media: a reader-owned outlet committed to honesty, fairness, and fact-first reporting. Reaching 2,000 investors means more state editions, and more accountability—without compromising our independence.

We are so close to showing the country that a different kind of media company can exist—and thrive. But we can’t finish this without you.

If The Flyover has earned your trust, we hope you’ll take that final step with us.

Article Icon 1New Restrictions on Massage Parlors

Fairfax County imposed new restrictions on the massage therapy business intended to crack down on sex trafficking and protect legitimate massage therapists.

The county ordinance bans massage sites from having controlled entries such as locked doors, covered windows, buzzing systems, and concealed access.

The best way to protect legitimate businesses is to weed out illegitimate businesses that are giving an entire profession an unfairly bad rap,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay said.

A local nonprofit estimated there are more than 160 illicit massage providers in Fairfax County.

Article Icon 1Criticism in Comey Case

The Department of Justice and prosecutor Lindsey Halligan criticized Michael Nachmanoff, the federal judge in the Eastern District of Virginia overseeing the government’s prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey on charges he lied to Congress.

The Judicial Canons require judges to be ‘patient, dignified, respectful, and courteous to litigants, jurors, witnesses, lawyers,’” Halligan told the New York Post. Earlier in the day, she admitted in Nachmanoff’s courtroom that the full grand jury she oversaw did not review the final Comey indictment.

This judge launched an outrageous and unprofessional personal attack yesterday in open court against U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan,” DOJ spokesman Chad Gilmartin claimed after the judge mused that Halligan might be “a stalking horse or a puppet, for want of a better word, doing the president’s bidding.”

Three different federal judges are reviewing Halligan’s actions, while Comey’s lawyers are attempting to have the charges dismissed due to wrongful prosecution.
