Article Icon 1Redistricting Chaos Continues

Early voting on Virginia’s referendum about whether to amend the constitution to allow temporary congressional redistricting this year—ahead of the 2026 elections—is scheduled to begin on Friday. Several legal and logistical challenges remain unresolved, however.

The Augusta County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution last week opposing the redistricting map proposed by Democrats, which would divide the county among three districts. Patrick County’s Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution to delay early voting until April 16, less than a week ahead of the scheduled April 21 referendum.

Other counties are preparing for the vote. “It is our duty to plan, prepare, and administer this special election until otherwise instructed by a court ruling or further legislation from the General Assembly,” Botetourt County Registrar Traci Clark said.

Democrats gerrymandered the proposed district map to give their party an advantage in 10 of the state’s 11 congressional races as a “temporary response to an extraordinary national moment,” according to a recent letter signed by Virginia House Democrats

Article Icon 1Loudoun Lawsuit Settled

The Loudoun County School Board and the families of two boys who were accused of sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination settled a federal lawsuit last week. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The boys were investigated and suspended last year after a female student who identifies as a male accused them of harassment when they complained that she was in the boys’ locker room.

Ultimately, this case involved two high school boys,” federal Judge Leonie Brinkema told the parties. “I am thrilled that you have been able to work it out.

The Founding Freedoms Law Center represented the boys. The organization’s president said, We hope that, in the future, as a result of the attention brought to this situation and our efforts to help vindicate these boys, Loudoun County will have an even greater incentive to protect vulnerable students from the harms of gender ideology.”

Article Icon 1Deadly Beltway Road Rage Incident

A state trooper shot and killed a suspect who apparently launched a road rage attack after an accident on the Capital Beltway on Sunday.

Authorities said 32-year-old Jared Llamado of McLean got out of his car after a crash and attacked others with a knife. He killed 39-year-old Michelle Adams and a dog and wounded three other people before the officer could intervene and shoot him.

The three survivors were hospitalized with serious injuries. The incident closed all southbound lanes of I-495 and backed up traffic for six miles.

In response to online speculation, state police said the attack was not terrorism.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random

The BBC caught scam-call workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.
