Mia Bieniemy, wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was shot multiple times Sunday night at the family’s home in Ashburn. The 57-year-old was hospitalized in stable condition after suffering serious injuries to her chest and arm, according to sources and police.

Their 27-year-old son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm inside a dwelling. He is being held without bond as the Loudoun County investigation continues.

Eric Bieniemy left the Chiefs training camp and missed Monday’s practice. Coach Andy Reid expressed support for the family, saying Mia Bieniemy is stable and that pass-game coordinator Joe Bleymaier will handle duties in the interim, with no timetable set for Eric Bieniemy’s return.

A new state law now requires Virginia employers to include a salary range in job postings and bars them from asking applicants about their pay history.

The rules took effect July 1, cover public and internal postings, and set no minimum employer size, putting Virginia among 13 states with pay-transparency requirements. Gov. Abigail Spanberger said the salary history ban may matter most, since it keeps a candidate’s past pay from becoming the starting point for negotiations.

Sponsored by Sen. Jennifer Boysko, D, Fairfax, and Del. Michelle Maldonado, D, Manassas, the law allows the attorney general to seek fines up to $1,000 for a first violation and $5,000 for later ones.

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce said employers are updating hiring practices and seeking guidance.

The feature film America’s Favorite, starring Dane DeHaan of Oppenheimer and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, will begin shooting across Hampton Roads this summer.

Executive producer Stephen Israel, who shot three earlier features in Hampton Roads, said its mix of locations and professional crews make it his favorite place to work.

DeHaan plays a reporter-turned-TV host who tries to revive his career by solving unsolved murders during a live broadcast, only to find the network’s mogul at the center of the story.

Producers chose Virginia with help from the Virginia Film Office, and plan to hire local crews and vendors. The production qualifies for a Virginia film tax credit or grant tied to hiring Virginia workers and promoting tourism.

Real Estate’s Gatekeepers Just Lost

There’s a reason why so many millionaires invest in real estate. It’s one of the most time-tested asset classes in existence: U.S. home values have appreciated at an average of 4%+ annually since 19671. But with prohibitively high minimums, the system was never designed for regular investors.

Reiturn® is changing that. And now you can own a piece of the platform, making it happen.

Built by a team that managed $350M in assets across 3,600+ apartments and delivered 45+ consecutive quarters of investor distributions, Reiturn® is modernizing how everyday people access real estate.

And while REIT investors collect dividends on someone else’s terms, Reiturn® investors capture a cut of every dollar the platform earns: asset management fees, carried interest, and future funds.

Invest in Reiturn® before the perk window closes Aug. 13.
