Article Icon 1D.C. Crash Still ‘Doesn’t Feel Real’

Navy vessels, along with barges from Virginia Beach, joined the salvage and recovery mission in the Potomac River at the site of last week’s deadly air collision.

All 64 people on board an American Airlines flight from Wichita to D.C. and all three crew members aboard a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter were killed in the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation.

Ten busloads of family members visited the site near Reagan National Airport yesterday.

More than a dozen members of Northern Virginia’s ice skating community were among the victims of the accident. “I’m living in a world without all of my friends,” an 11-year-old who skates in Ashburn said. “It’s kind of hard to comprehend, and it just doesn’t feel real.

Nurse manager Michelle Beddoe of the Colonial Heights Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has been charged with one count of abuse of a vulnerable adult resulting in death.

She is the nineteenth staff member at the facility to be detained in connection with the death of a former patient.

Authorities conducted a raid at Colonial Heights in December. That search was triggered by the case of a 74-year-old woman who left the facility and went to a hospital last fall, where she died weeks later.

In a separate case, a doctor from Colonial Heights was charged with abuse and neglect after a mentally ill patient walked out of the facility while still fitted with a catheter and a colostomy bag. In that case, the victim was a homeless man who was well-known in the area.

The Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond is hosting a new exhibit called “Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks.”

The display features recreations of 20 famous skyscrapers built from more than half a million LEGO bricks.

A team of builders spent more than 2,000 hours constructing the towers, which include mini models of the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and the Petronas Twin Towers.

The exhibit also allows parents and children to build their own structures with LEGO bricks. “This is so much better than screen time because I get to do it with them, one parent said. “It’s a lot of fun to just build and be creative.

The exhibit is scheduled to run until Aug. 24.

The facts are staggering, aren’t they? $36 trillion in national debt. Inflation’s eroding the dollar. And meanwhile? You and your cash could be caught in the crossfire. But there’s a way to prepare.

A move many people might not know exists. And you’ll be glad once you see it. Because when Elon Musk saw the national debt, he said “This amounts to over $106k per person in America.” But then he nailed it: “Terrifying.” And it’s obvious, right? Unchecked government spending likely leads to consequences for everyone. But this isn’t just a headline; it’s a wake-up call. Here’s why: many might not realize how these decisions could ripple through their finances. The rising debt isn’t just numbers on a screen—it’s a slow erosion of buying power, savings, and future plans.

But there’s a way to potentially step outside the chaos and regain control. Within the IRS code is an obscure provision… one that might not make sense unless you understand what it really means. But the important part? This IRS provision—a loophole, if you will—could help you protect your wealth from inflation and market uncertainty. It’s straightforward and might be a way to help build financial confidence for years to come. So here’s how to get it. Time may not be on your side. The debt clock is ticking. Inflation might not wait. Request your FREE IRS Loophole Kit today. It’s fast. It’s easy. And it could make all the difference. Get Your FREE Guide Here.
