Federal investigators are back at a Bedford County property on Taylor Mountain Road that has been tied to decades-old unsolved cases. The FBI hasn’t disclosed what specifically drew them back or which case they’re pursuing.

The site has been visited multiple times over the years by law enforcement agencies from both Virginia and Maryland.

The Taylor Mountain property has long been linked to the 1975 disappearance and murder of Katherine and Sheila Lyon, two Maryland sisters whose case remained one of the most haunting cold cases in the region for decades.

Lloyd Lee Welch was convicted of their killings in 2017. The latest federal activity suggests investigators may still be searching for additional evidence or answers.

The Commonwealth is rolling out the welcome mat for tall ships from around the world as America’s 250th anniversary celebrations kick into high gear across multiple Virginia waterways.

Sail Yorktown launches Friday as part of the statewide Sail Virginia 250th commemoration running through June.

Down the coast, Norfolk and Portsmouth are prepping for one of the largest waterfront gatherings in Virginia history. Sail250, Juneteenth, and Harborfest converge on the Hampton Roads waterfront in less than two weeks, with more than 60 ships—tall ships among them—from around 20 countries.

In Richmond, several park spaces are closing to prepare for SailFest on the James River, where three historic tall ships will dock at the riverfront this weekend.

That scam call wasn’t random.

Scammers don’t just guess your number. They buy personal information from data brokers, companies selling your phone number, home address, relatives’ info, and more online.

That’s how a random scam call can turn into phishing, impersonation, identity theft, or someone knowing more about you than they should.

That’s why we recommend Incogni. It removes your personal information from these databases and continues to remove it automatically.
