Article Icon 1Virginians Helping Texas Flood Victims

Organizations across Virginia mobilized to provide humanitarian aid to flood-ravaged areas of Texas.

The Virginia Beach-based nonprofit Operation Blessing is in Kerrville, Texas, providing hot meals for residents and first responders. After the initial crisis has passed, the group is prepared to participate in the cleanup efforts, which could take months or years.

The nonprofit God’s Pit Crew, based in Danville, sent two truckloads of “blessing buckets” and plans to send 50 volunteers to help with cleanup, as well.

A Virginia Tech expert warned that even after the flood waters subside, there will be serious health risks, including pathogens and bacteria in the water.

A Virginia Beach business owner has presented a plan to build a 20,000-seat sports arena as a step toward bringing a professional team to the city.

Coleman Ferguson said the plan calls for an “arena that can host concerts and completely support itself, and then potentially get an NBA team.” The facility would be built with private money but would require services from the city, such as infrastructure upgrades.

Ferguson added the plan would cost around $300 million.

This summer, Virginia Beach opened The Dome, a concert venue that is bringing performers to the city.

Your home may be old by modern standards, but it’s probably quite new compared to many dwellings in the Commonwealth.

Broad Bay Manor, for example, started construction in 1640 and has been expanded several times. The manor has been continuously inhabited throughout those centuries.

Bacon’s Castle in Surry is the oldest brick dwelling in North America, dating from 1665. It was used as a headquarters during Bacon’s Rebellion.

In Gloucester County, Lowland Cottage was built around 1670, while Winona in Northampton County was completed in 1681.

Scientists at University College Cork have validated a surprising 10-second method that’s transforming how women fight signs of aging—without creams or invasive treatments.

In a study involving 674 women with deep wrinkles, sagging skin, and dark spots, researchers found that using this simple technique in front of the mirror each day led to dramatic improvements in appearance within just a few weeks.

What’s more shocking? This unusual method has been shown to be up to 10 times more effective than retinol, without any of the harsh side effects like redness, irritation, or dryness.

It’s fast, painless, and surprisingly easy to do at home. Thousands of women are already using it to look 10, 15, or even 20 years younger—and the results speak for themselves.

Watch the short video below to discover exactly how this method works—and why so many scientists and skincare experts are calling it the future of anti-aging.
